About this scholarship
Graduating high school seniors from Guilford, Randolph, or Chatham counties in North Carolina with a minimum 3.0 GPA who plan to attend a four-year nationally accredited HBCU may apply. One $2,500 scholarship is awarded.
Submit a 1,000-word civic engagement essay with a video presentation, documentation of at least 16 community service hours, one reference, and a transcript.
The Reginald and Mildred Womble Scholarship honors a commitment to education, leadership, and diversity through the George Washington Carver Community Enrichment Center.

- Eligibility: graduating high school senior from Randolph, Chatham, or Guilford counties (NC), planning to attend a four-year nationally accredited HBCU, minimum 3.0 GPA
- Civic Engagement essay must be typed/printed on 8.5x11 paper, double-spaced, with applicant's name, address, and 'Reginald & Mildred Womble Scholarship' at the top; creativity encouraged
- Video presentation of the personal essay (typed/printed copy also required, same formatting)
- Documentation of community service: minimum 16 hours, on agency letterhead
- One letter of reference (preferably from guidance counselor, teacher, coach, mentor, or religious leader)
- High school transcript
- Personal information form (contact details, GPA, test scores, colleges applied to, honors/awards, athletics, extracurriculars)
- Award: $2,500 one-time
