About this scholarship
Outstanding high school graduates from Colorado, Wyoming, Montana, New Mexico, or Idaho who have been accepted to an accredited four-year college or university and excel in mathematics and science may apply. Five scholarships of $5,000 each are renewable for up to four years (up to $20,000 total per recipient) for majors in engineering, physical or biological sciences, or mathematics.
Requires minimum 3.7 unweighted GPA, SAT 1200 or ACT 28, three references, personal essay, transcript, and test scores. Mail the complete application package by the deadline.
The Mikkelson Foundation recognizes students pursuing rigorous STEM education at the undergraduate level.

- Will major in engineering, mathematics, or natural sciences at an accredited four-year college/university
- Unweighted GPA of at least 3.7
- Cumulative SAT of at least 1200 or composite ACT of at least 28
- Application must be received by April 10, 2026 (mailed to P.O. Box 768, Monument, CO 80132)
