The Hoffman Agency HBCU Scholarship

California Community College students enrolled during the 2025-2026 academic year who transfer to a participating HBCU to major in communications (public relations, journalism, English, media studies, marketing, or related) may apply. Applicants need a letter of acceptance from one of the California Community College Guarantee HBCU partners.

The award covers tuition and fees for the recipient's junior and senior years at the HBCU (two years). Amount varies with tuition and fees.

Apply by March 31. Selection weighs grades and essay responses; finalists may be interviewed by the Selection Council.

The Hoffman Agency created the scholarship through its LPJ Foundation to open doors for community-college students into communications careers.
