The Frederick G. Black and Gwendolyn Atkinson MD Bursary

Undergraduate students enrolled in the Michael G. DeGroote School of Medicine at McMaster University who demonstrate financial need and academic merit are eligible. Preference is given to first-generation immigrants, students with a first-generation immigrant parent, and/or members of equity-deserving groups who intend to practice medicine in Canada.

The bursary provides $1,500 annually and may be renewable if criteria continue to be met.

Apply through McMaster AwardSpring. Students must submit a letter demonstrating their commitment to their career and community and how the grant may further that commitment. Previous recipients must reapply each year.
