The Charles and Marion Recupero Sport Media Documentary Award

Open to fourth-year RTA School of Media Sport Media students at Toronto Metropolitan University with a minimum CGPA of 3.00 who produced a documentary of at least 10 minutes in the third-year course RTA 994.

The award is worth $285.71. Entries are judged on storytelling skills and technical proficiency; subject matter is open.

Created by RTA Sport Media faculty member Joseph Recupero to honor his parents Charles and Marion Recupero, who helped fund his university education. Recupero graduated from RTA and spent many years at CBC Sports producing live sports and long-form documentaries.
