About this scholarship

High school seniors of Haudenosaunee heritage (Seneca, Cayuga, Onondaga, Oneida, Mohawk, or Tuscarora) who play lacrosse may apply for the Tewaaraton Outstanding Native American Scholarship. One male and one female student are selected each year on academic achievement, athletic performance, leadership, and lacrosse involvement.

Each recipient receives scholarship support paid directly to their college over the first two years of enrollment. Submit an essay on what lacrosse has taught you, along with a transcript and recommendations.

The award honors lacrosse's Native American roots and is judged by Tewaaraton Foundation board members, coaches, and Native community leaders.
