About this scholarship

LGBTQ+ Asian or Pacific Islander students with at least 25% API ancestry who graduated from a Bay Area high school in one of nine counties, are ages 17 to 25, maintain a 3.0 GPA, demonstrate financial need, and are enrolled full-time at an accredited post-secondary institution may apply. Up to four students receive up to $15,000 annually, renewable up to three additional years.

Submit a personal statement, letters of reference, transcripts, proof of citizenship or legal residency, and financial documentation by April 30 at 5 p.m. PT.

Edward C. Tang established this award in 2007 to assist LGBTQ+ API students with post-secondary education costs.
