About this scholarship
U.S. or Canadian high school seniors under age 21 who meet Tall Clubs International height minimums (5 feet 10 inches for women, 6 feet 2 inches for men) and plan to enter their first year of accredited higher education may apply through a local TCI member club or member-at-large sponsor.
A minimum award of $1,000 is available, with up to 46 recipients selected annually. Submit a 550 to 650-word essay, transcript, two recommendations (at least one from a teacher), and a current headshot in JPG format.
These merit-based scholarships honor Kae Sumner-Einfeldt, Virginia Linquist-Winker, Robert Rader, Carolyn Goldstein, and Charles and Doris Chickering.

- The title 'What Being Tall Means to Me' and the applicant's name must appear at the top of the page; lack of a title and name results in a 2-point deduction (title/name not counted in the 550-650 word
- Essay evaluated on content, grammar, and originality
- Height eligibility: women 5'10" (178 cm) minimum, men 6'2" (188 cm) minimum, measured in stocking feet
