Szweda Scholarship of Recover Michiana

High school seniors in Indiana or Michigan who lost a parent to overdose or a substance-abuse-related death and plan to attend a college or trade school may apply. There is no GPA minimum.

One $1,000 award is available. Applicants must show acceptance to a college or trade school.

Submit a 300 to 500 word essay on how addiction has impacted your life and your academic or professional goals. Students need not share details they are uncomfortable disclosing.

Recover Michiana established the scholarship so children who lost a parent to substance abuse are not forgotten.
