About this scholarship
Graduating high school seniors, currently enrolled undergraduate students, or police academy cadets from the greater San Francisco Bay Area who plan to pursue a career in police work, corrections, or other criminal justice fields may apply.
Scholarships of $5,000 are available to U.S. citizens or permanent residents with a minimum unweighted 2.5 GPA enrolled full-time at a two- or four-year college or police academy who demonstrate financial need.
The fund was established in memory of Police Chief Harold "Hal" Johnson, whose 29-year law enforcement career began in Sacramento in 1955 after honorable service as a U.S. Marine Corps Staff Sergeant.
