About this scholarship

Young women ages 18 to 26 who are current residents of San Mateo County with demonstrated financial hardship may apply, with preference for residents of East Palo Alto, East Menlo Park, Redwood City, and San Mateo.

One scholarship of $1,000 is available. Applicants should have a maximum cumulative GPA of 3.3 and be graduating high school seniors, graduates, or GED holders planning full-time enrollment at a two- or four-year college, with preference for graduates of select local high schools.

The award recognizes self-motivated women who have overcome obstacles, including those who dropped out for reasons beyond their control or faced ethnic, racial, or disability-related hardship.
