About this scholarship
New Mexico residents who are graduating high school seniors with at least a 3.5 GPA or current undergraduates with at least a 3.0 GPA may apply if they are pursuing a first undergraduate degree full-time at a public or nonprofit college or university and can demonstrate financial need.
Awards of up to $8,000 help fill gaps in financial aid packages. The number of awards varies each year.
Apply through the Albuquerque Community Foundation online portal. The fund was established in 1994 from the estates of Shirley Sussman Spiewak and her husband, who believed education is the one possession that is permanent.
