About this scholarship
Open to second- and third-year J.D. students at the Peter A. Allard School of Law at UBC Vancouver who are First Nations, Inuit, or Métis of Canada and in need of financial assistance.
Award amounts vary. Funding comes from an endowment established by Dr. Yosef Wosk, with matching funds from UBC, honouring The Honourable Steven Lewis Point (LL.B. 1985).
Awards are made on the recommendation of the Peter A. Allard School of Law.
The Hon. Steven Point, a member of the Skowkale First Nation, taught law at UBC, served as a judge in the Provincial Court of BC, became the first Indigenous Lieutenant Governor of British Columbia in 2007, and in 2020 became the first Indigenous Chancellor of UBC.
