About this scholarship
Open to students enrolled in the UBC Vancouver Department of English who have completed their first year. Graduate students may also be considered.
Scholarships are drawn from a $43,100 endowment established by the Estate of Dr. Stanley M. Grant. The amount varies by recipient. Awards are made on the recommendation of the Department of English; for graduate students, selection is in consultation with the Faculty of Graduate and Postdoctoral Studies. There is no separate student application.
Dr. Grant (1924-2015) earned a BA in Arts from UBC in 1949 and later obtained his MD with a specialty in Pathology at McGill. He served as District Coroner in Nanaimo, BC for many years.
