About this scholarship
Institutional nomination only. For a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or protected person who, on April 1 of the competition year, holds a SSHRC-funded doctoral or postdoctoral award (including CGS/CGRS, Vanier, Banting, or a SSHRC Postdoctoral Fellowship).
The Talent Award recognizes academic excellence, research and knowledge mobilization talent, and leadership potential. Value is $50,000, usable as a one-year fellowship or research grant, with at least 10% used to promote the recipient's research. One award is granted. Nomination deadline is April 1, 2026.
