About this scholarship
Graduating high school seniors in the Washington, D.C., metropolitan area with at least a 2.5 GPA may apply for awards toward college or vocational training.
The Spingarn Alumni Association awards scholarships of $1,000. The number of recipients varies.
Submit a 200 to 250 word typed essay, transcript, one faculty recommendation, three references (one from a counselor), and an acceptance letter. Public high school students should be recommended by Spingarn Alumni Association members. Since 1997, the association has supported graduates pursuing post-secondary education.
