About this scholarship

Female (or identifying as female) Canadian citizens or permanent residents in full-time Master's, PhD, or comparable professional programs (such as medicine or law) at Universities Canada member institutions may apply for Soroptimist Foundation of Canada Grants for Women. Applicants must pursue studies leading to careers that improve women's lives, demonstrate financial need and community volunteer service, intend to use the award in the following academic year, and commit to working in Canada for at least two years after graduation. BA studies, medical residencies, and colleges not affiliated with a Canadian university are ineligible. Applicants may apply more than once but cannot receive a second grant; Soroptimist members are not eligible, though family members may apply.

Several $8,500 grants are awarded annually.

Submit the completed application and all required documents (except references, which may go directly to the Grants Manager) as one PDF between November 1 and January 31 to the east or west grants manager based on permanent home address relative to the Manitoba/Ontario border. Only successful applicants are notified.
