Sophia Leung Graduate Award in Social Work

Open to outstanding graduate students in the UBC School of Social Work. Financial need may be considered.

Award amounts vary. Funding comes from an endowment established by Sophia Ming Ren Leung, CM (B.Sc., B.S.W. 1964, M.S.W. 1966).

There is no separate student application. Awards are made on the recommendation of the School of Social Work in consultation with the Faculty of Graduate and Postdoctoral Studies.

Sophia Leung was a hospital-based social worker who also served as an activist, consultant, author, and Member of Parliament.
