About this scholarship

Students diagnosed with hemophilia A or B who reside in the continental United States and are high school seniors, GED holders, or enrolled in college or vocational school may apply.

Pfizer's Soozie Courter Hemophilia Scholarship Program offers up to $5,000 in educational support, with 11 awards available annually. The program is named for a pioneer in hemophilia research.

Submit a completed application by email with a personal essay, two recommendations, a health care provider form, and official transcripts.

  • Must be a high school senior, have completed high school/GED, or be accepted to/enrolled in a junior college, college (undergraduate or graduate), or vocational school
  • Completed application form (2 pages, including education information)
  • Signed release form
  • 2 personal recommendation forms from someone who is not a family member or member of the household
  • 1 Health Care Provider form
  • Official transcript(s) from school(s) attended in the past 2 years (copies not accepted; GED copy if applicable)
  • Personal essay: write on ONE chosen prompt; no more than 2 typed, double-spaced pages in 10-point font; type the chosen question at the beginning; do not include name in the essay body except signed/d
  • Application submitted via email to the program administrator (Pfizerscholarship@Sound-hc.com) by the deadline
  • Application must be submitted by email to the program administrator.
