Sonia Marryshow Black Scholar Award

For Toronto Metropolitan University undergraduate students who identify as Black women (Afro-Caribbean or African-Canadian, cisgender or transgender) in second, third, or fourth year, with clear academic standing, a CGPA of at least 2.0, and demonstrated financial need.

The award is $1,000 and includes mentorship from donor Bianca Marryshow.

Applicants provide a written statement on elevating Black culture, contributions to the Black community, and/or career or life path goals.

Named by Bianca Marryshow in honour of her mother, Sonia Marryshow, who supported her commitment to higher education.
