Up to two undergraduate students entering the Politics and Governance program at Toronto Metropolitan University may receive this entrance award.

Created in 2009 to honour Solly Patel, a longtime Politics and Public Administration faculty member and former department chair who served TMU for 29 years before retiring in 1996. The endowment was made possible by his sister, Khatija Patel.
