Smith Scholarship Foundation

Graduating Alabama high school seniors (including homeschooled students) with a minimum 2.5 GPA who demonstrate financial need, leadership, community service, and success overcoming personal obstacles may apply. Complete the FAFSA as part of the process.

Up to 15 full scholarships are awarded annually, along with additional partial awards. Award amounts vary; full scholarships are renewable based on a renewal application and program guidelines. Smith Scholars may also receive mentorship, internship opportunities, and paths to study abroad or graduate support. Submit the online application with short answers and essays, at least three recommendations, and transcripts. Applications typically open in the fall and close in the first week of January.
