About this scholarship
Graduating law students (typically in the fall of 3L year), LL.M. candidates, judicial clerks, and recent law graduates within two years of graduation may apply. Applicants partner with an eligible stand-alone 501(c)(3) host organization that employs at least two full-time civil legal advocates able to supervise the project. Projects must provide civil legal advocacy for people living in poverty in the United States; criminal work and government-guaranteed representation are not funded.
Fellowships last two years. Host organizations set salary with foundation support floors; award amounts vary. Apply with a project proposal developed with the host, essays, and required certifications by the posted August deadline.
The Skadden Fellowship Foundation funds public-interest law careers serving unmet civil legal needs.
