About this scholarship

Sikh students attending an accredited U.S. course of study may apply for scholarships, grants, or interest-free loans based on financial need, academic success, and involvement in the Sikh community.

The Association of Sikh Professionals Sikh Education Fund awards support ranging from $500 to $4,000 per recipient.

Complete the online application, upload required documents, and mail the original notarization page. New applicants must submit by June 1. The fund has supported more than 400 grants and loans since 1989 to help Sikh youth pursue higher education while maintaining their Sikh identity.

  • Recent photograph
  • Five Sikh references, including at least two in the United States
  • Original notarized applicant disclosure statement and notarized parent/guardian consent
  • Estimated college expenses and family net-worth/financial information
  • Educational-goals essay
  • Sikh-community-involvement essay
  • High school and college/university transcripts (graduate transcripts if applicable); Spring final transcripts may follow by June 25
  • Acceptance letter if not yet enrolled in college
  • Copies of applicant's and parents'/guardians' tax returns (financial-need documentation)
  • Salary slip or tax return if currently employed
  • Recent photograph
  • 5 Sikh references (at least 2 in the USA)
  • Notarized applicant disclosure statement AND notarized parent/guardian consent (original signatures on page 6 required before disbursement; application rejected without notarization)
  • Estimated college expenses and family net-worth/financial information
  • Complete the online application and mail the original notarization page.
