Shelagh J. Smith Award for Mature Students in Nursing

Outstanding mature students enrolled in the UBC Bachelor of Science in Nursing program on the Vancouver campus may be considered, with preference for those who demonstrate financial need.

The award amount varies. Funding comes from an endowment established by the estate of Shelagh Smith (1928-2021), a UBC nursing alumna and senior instructor who returned to her studies as a mature student and later joined the School of Nursing as a faculty member.

Recipients are selected on the recommendation of the School of Nursing. There is no separate application.
