About this scholarship
Women pursuing undergraduate studies in transportation or a related field may apply through a local WTS chapter. Eligible applicants need a 3.0 GPA, must have graduated from an Oregon or southwest Washington high school or be enrolled in a college in that region, and must be enrolled in or accepted to an undergraduate degree program. Prior WTS scholarship recipients are ineligible.
Chapter winners advance for the national Sharon D. Banks Memorial Undergraduate Scholarship of $5,000 from the WTS Foundation. Local chapter award amounts and deadlines vary.
Apply through your local WTS chapter with documentation of transportation-related goals, academic record, and activities. Minority candidates are encouraged to apply.

- GPA of 3.0 or higher (attach official copy of transcript)
- Currently enrolled in an undergraduate degree program in a transportation-related field (e.g., transportation engineering, planning, finance, or logistics)
- Plans to pursue a career in a transportation-related field
- Letter of recommendation from a professor or job supervisor must accompany the application
- Proof of enrollment (copy of tuition receipt or current registration card)
- Application must be submitted through a local WTS chapter as a typed document
- Optional confidential demographic information (not required, not used in selection)
