About this scholarship
Full-time McMaster PhD students who have completed comprehensive exams may apply for travel and fieldwork more than 200 km from campus that is critical to thesis completion. The fund is a grant-in-aid of research travel, not conference or course attendance, and is not expected to cover the full cost of the trip.
Individual awards range up to $7,500 depending on trip length (four weeks to twelve months). Available funding is up to $25,000 per competition, typically supporting about 4 to 6 applications.
