Eligibility
About this scholarship
Current or incoming full-time master's or doctoral students at the University of Toronto who, within the last five years, have been asylum or refugee seekers anywhere in the world, or whose program of study is affected by changing political environments or immigration law, may apply. Applicants need an outstanding academic record, demonstrated financial need, and a commitment to enhancing peers' student experience through university or community involvement. Domestic and international students are eligible. The fellowship provides up to $10,000 for one year, held in addition to normal program funding for those in the funded cohort, plus Scholar-at-Risk status and consideration for Junior Fellowship at Massey College (membership fee waived).
Apply with the SGS Scholars-at-Risk Fellowship form, a personal statement (up to 2 pages), transcripts, CV, proof of status where applicable, a financial need assessment, and one confidential reference letter.
