About this scholarship

Queen's University second- or third-year students in the J.D. program or combined J.D. degree program in the Faculty of Law who demonstrate academic excellence in a Competitive Moot course and an Advocacy course may receive this prize.

The award amount varies. The Advocates' Society supplements the prize with free tuition to a basic civil or criminal advocacy skills course. Selection is made by the Faculty of Law Awards Committee. The prize was established in honour of Philippa Samworth, president of The Advocates' Society in 2002-2003.
