About this scholarship

Outstanding graduate students in the UBC Vancouver Faculty of Forestry may be nominated for this scholarship. Preference goes to students studying biodiversity conservation, bio-based product development, or sustainable forest management practices.

Scholarships totalling $4,800 are funded through an endowment from the Samit and Reshma Sharma Foundation. No separate application is required; awards are made on the recommendation of the Faculty of Forestry, in consultation with the Faculty of Graduate and Postdoctoral Studies.

The Sharma family established the endowment to recognize UBC forestry expertise and to support research on climate change mitigation and adaptation.
