About this scholarship

U.S. citizens enrolled full-time as undergraduates at an accredited college or university may apply if they are freshmen through juniors (or rising sophomores through seniors) pursuing a professional degree in architecture, engineering, or related environmental sciences.

Multiple awards are available annually from a shared pool, with individual scholarships ranging up to $10,000. Recipients are matched with mentors in their field.

Complete the online SAME Washington DC Post application with an advisor endorsement letter, passport-style headshot, and a two- to three-page narrative covering academic performance, professional goals, community involvement, financial need, extracurricular activities, and a personal statement. SAME Student Membership (free) is required.

  • Narrative is a single 2-3 page PDF document; format is one paragraph per topic, typewritten
  • The narrative addresses academic performance and goals, Washington DC Post/regional community association, financial need, extracurricular activities, military service if any, and personal statement.
