About this scholarship

Black high school seniors who have been full-time Colorado residents for at least three years may apply. Military dependents stationed in Colorado may be considered on a case-by-case basis.

Grants range from $10,000 to $12,500 per year for up to four years, totaling up to $50,000, and may be used at any accredited institution where the recipient enrolls full-time.

Apply online between January 1 and March 15. Submit a high school transcript, two letters of recommendation from non-family members, a one-page personal statement, a 350 to 500 word essay, your FAFSA Student Aid Report, and household tax information. An optional educational, artistic, or professional file may be included. Recommendation letters must arrive by March 31.

Finalists are notified in late April and must attend a program in Colorado Springs in June for final award approval.
