About this scholarship
Students from rural U.S. communities who attended a traditional public high school in a rural area and plan to pursue a computer technology degree focused on security may apply.
Up to five recipients receive $1,000 for education expenses, plus up to two SANS training courses and corresponding GIAC certification exams.
Selection is based on essay responses gauging your passion for cyber security and pride in your rural community.
The Rural Technology Fund was founded to help rural students access technology education and pursue high-paying tech careers that can strengthen their communities.
Essay questions
What else to submit
- Essay responses about cybersecurity interest, career goals, a cybersecurity problem, rural-community experience, and a recently learned cybersecurity concept
- Open to students from a rural community anywhere in the United States
- Up to 5 students awarded annually; $1,000 cash award plus up to 2 SANS training courses and the 2 corresponding GIAC certification exams
