About this scholarship
The American Psychological Foundation's Roy Scrivner Memorial Research Grant awards $9,000 to support promising graduate research on LGBTQIA+ family psychology and therapy, including the problems LGBTQIA+ families face, coping mechanisms and sources of resilience, and clinical issues and interventions.
Applicants must be advanced graduate students in good standing, endorsed by a supervising professor, with a demonstrated commitment to LGBTQIA+ family issues. Preference is given to students whose dissertation research plans address this area. The restriction is on research topic, not on the applicant's own identity.
Applications are submitted through APF's GivingData portal with a project proposal, timeline, detailed budget and justification, CV, and a letter of recommendation from the faculty advisor. The most recent deadline was November 26, 2025.
