About this scholarship

Michigan high school seniors graduating with a 2.5 or higher GPA who demonstrate financial need, community involvement, and alignment with Rosa Parks' ideals may apply. Applicants must plan to enroll full-time in higher education.

The Rosa L. Parks Scholarship Foundation awards non-renewable scholarships to approximately forty students each year.

Submit an application with a 200 to 300 word essay, transcripts, and two recommendation letters, including at least one from a school representative.

Founded by The Detroit News and Detroit Public Schools in 1980, the Foundation has awarded more than $3 million in scholarships to Michigan seniors.
