About this scholarship

Louisiana residents pursuing forestry, wildlife, or marine science degrees at Louisiana public colleges may apply. Undergraduate applicants need at least 60 college credits and a 2.50 cumulative GPA; graduate applicants need a 3.0 cumulative graduate GPA. Applicants must be U.S. citizens or eligible non-citizens registered with Selective Service if required.

Competitive awards provide up to $2,000 per year for undergraduates or up to $3,000 per year for graduate students, with a cumulative maximum of $12,000.

Submit FAFSA and required documentary evidence to LASFAC.

  • Submit the Rockefeller State Wildlife Scholarship Application (mail or e-mail) so it is received by LOSFA no later than July 1 (or by December 1 for possible spring eligibility if funds remain)
  • Enclose an official college transcript that includes the most recent semester attended
  • Be enrolled full-time at an eligible Louisiana Public College/University pursuing a degree in forestry, wildlife or marine science as it pertains to wildlife
  • Undergraduate: at least 60 earned college credit hours and cumulative college GPA of at least 2.50
  • Graduate: cumulative GPA of at least 3.00 on all graduate courses
  • Be a Louisiana resident; U.S. citizen, U.S. national, or eligible non-citizen; registered with Selective Service if required
  • Sign the certification section
  • Maximum cumulative award is $12,000.
