Robert J. Mitchell Memorial Award in Education

Open to mature students entering the Bachelor of Education program at UBC Vancouver. Preference is given to students with an interest and/or background in Special Education.

Awards totalling $2,000 are made available annually through a gift from Yvonne Mitchell in memory of Robert J. Mitchell.

Recipients are selected on the recommendation of the Faculty of Education. There is no separate application.

Robert J. Mitchell was an elementary school teacher for many years, teaching with compassion and dedication and especially committed to supporting students with learning disabilities.
