Awards totalling $28,600 were endowed by former students and colleagues to honour Dr. Robert Barker and his wife Kazuko. Dr. Barker is a UBC alumnus (B.A. 1952, M.A. 1953) and Professor and Provost Emeritus at Cornell University. Income is split equally between Arts ($14,300) and Science ($14,300) to assist with educational expenses, conference travel, supplies, equipment, and research costs.
