Richard R. Sugden, QC Prize in Trial Advocacy

For J.D. students at the Peter A. Allard School of Law at UBC Vancouver with outstanding achievement in trial advocacy.

Prizes totalling $7,250 are endowed through gifts from colleagues and friends. Up to four awards may be made each year, so individual prize amounts vary.

There is no separate application. Awards are made on the recommendation of the Peter A. Allard School of Law.

The endowment honours Richard (Rick) Sugden, QC (LL.B. 1973), a highly accomplished civil and commercial litigator in Vancouver who also guided fellow lawyers facing professional and ethical issues.
