About this scholarship
U.S. or Canadian citizens who are graduating high school seniors (minimum 3.7 GPA) or enrolled undergraduates (minimum 3.5 GPA) pursuing an eligible STEM major at an accredited four-year college or university may apply. Eligible fields include civil, mechanical, electrical, environmental, structural, geological, and related engineering; computer science; geology or earth sciences; math; mining or mineral resources; land surveying; urban planning; water resources or hydrology; and construction management. Additional consideration is given to applicants from underrepresented groups in STEM.
Up to five $3,000 scholarships are awarded annually. Recipients may express interest in a paid internship with RESPEC, though it is not required or guaranteed. Apply with two letters of recommendation (one academic, one nonacademic), a transcript showing unweighted GPA on a 4.0 scale, and written responses covering biography, extracurriculars, career goals, accountability, community impact, and teamwork.
