About this scholarship
U.S. residents age 17 or older with a rare disease (fewer than 200,000 people affected in the U.S.), whether diagnosed or undiagnosed, who plan to enroll in an accredited college, university, or trade school may apply.
Up to 58 awards of $5,000 are granted for the academic year. Preference goes to applicants who demonstrate financial need.
Submit the Scholarship America application with a physician diagnosis verification form and an essay on your personal journey and educational goals, along with information on leadership, activities, work, academics, and need.
EveryLife Foundation for Rare Diseases established the fund to support adults living with rare diseases in pursuing education.
