About this scholarship
Graduating high school seniors from Maryland, Virginia, or the District of Columbia who are a positive influence in their Christian life may apply. Applicants need a minimum 2.5 GPA, 50 hours of community service, and demonstrated community involvement and desire to attend college.
Two scholarships are awarded annually. Amounts vary based on available funds and are applied directly to tuition upon enrollment verification.
Submit a one-page application letter, two recommendations, an official transcript, a personal essay on how Christian faith has influenced your life, and community service verification. Selected applicants attend a Zoom interview.
Cultured Pearl, a nonprofit supporting women of faith, offers this scholarship to high school seniors showing faith-based leadership in their communities.

- Community-service verification
- Proof of college acceptance or current enrollment
- Completed application form
- Letter of application addressed to the Scholarship Committee (brief explanation about yourself and your college plans: college/university, intended major, anticipated start date); must not exceed one
- Two (2) letters of recommendation
- Official and recent high school transcript with cumulative GPA and class standing/rank
- Documentation of at least 50 hours of community service (letter on official letterhead from the agency)
- Proof of college acceptance or current student enrollment
- Willingness to attend a Zoom interview with the Executive Committee
- Must be a graduating high school senior with at least a 2.5 GPA, located in the DMV (Washington, DC / Maryland / Virginia) area
- Deadline: April 30, 2026, 11:59 p.m.; all materials emailed to sharondasavoy@culturedpearl.org
