About this scholarship
Dependent children (under age 26) of PSAC members in good standing as of March 31, 2026 who will attend full-time studies at a recognized post-secondary institution in fall 2026. Prior winners of a PSAC scholarship through this program are not eligible again. Not limited to first-year students.
Two PSAC-Coughlin National Scholarships of $3,000 each.
Apply online by June 22, 2026 at 11:55 p.m. ET with a 750 to 850-word essay or an original creative submission (video, infographic, song, or similar, max five minutes) answering the 2026 scholarship questions. Cite sources and acknowledge any AI assistance.

- Either an original 750- to 850-word essay or an original creative submission (video, infographic, or audio/song; maximum five minutes); video/audio submissions require a transcript
- Citations for all consulted sources
- Applicants respond to ONE of the two questions based on eligibility: PSAC members answer Question 1; children of PSAC members answer Question 2. Clearly indicate which question you are answering.
- Submission word range is 750 to 850 words for the essay option.
- References/citations do not count toward the 750-850 word count.
- Essay must be in Word format with full name and page numbers in a header and footer on every page.
- File name format: Lastname, Firstname_-_submissiontype (essay, video, infographic, or audio).
- Alternative to an essay (Option 2): an original video, infographic, or audio recording of a song answering the same question; maximum 5 minutes; video/audio must include a transcript.
- All sources consulted must be cited; failure to cite leads to an unsuccessful application.
- AI tools may be used only as a revising/editing aid; the initial draft must be the applicant's original work and any AI-introduced ideas/content must be cited as AI-generated.
- Applications must be submitted via the online portal (not by email/fax/printed copy).
- 2025 cycle deadline was June 22, 2025 at 11:55 pm ET (each annual cycle has its own deadline).
- Clearly indicate the applicable scholarship question.
- Essay submissions must be in Word format with the applicant's full name and page numbers in the header and footer.
- AI may only be used as a revising/editing aid; AI-generated ideas or content must be cited.
