About this scholarship

Dependent children (under age 26) of PSAC members in good standing as of March 31, 2026 who will attend full-time studies at a recognized post-secondary institution in fall 2026. Prior winners of a PSAC scholarship through this program are not eligible again. Not limited to first-year students.

One PSAC-Coughlin National Scholarship of $4,000.

Apply online by June 22, 2026 at 11:55 p.m. ET with a 750 to 850-word essay or an original creative submission (video, infographic, song, or similar, max five minutes) answering the 2026 scholarship questions. Cite sources and acknowledge any AI assistance.

  • Citations for all consulted sources
  • Applicant answers only ONE of the two questions based on eligibility: PSAC members answer Question 1; children of PSAC members answer Question 2. Clearly indicate which question you are answering.
  • Essay must be an original 750- to 850-word essay (a hard range, not just a max). References do NOT count toward the 750–850 words.
  • Alternative to the essay: an original creative submission (video, infographic, audio/song) max five (5) minutes; videos/audio must include a transcript.
  • Essay must be submitted in Word format with full name and page numbers as a header and footer on every page.
  • File name format must be: Lastname, Firstname_-_submissiontype (essay, video, infographic, or audio).
  • All applicants MUST cite the sources they consulted; failure to cite references will make the submission unsuccessful. Plagiarism leads to disqualification.
  • AI tools permitted only as a revising/editing aid; initial draft must be the applicant's own original work, and any AI-introduced ideas/content must be cited as AI-generated.
  • Eligibility: PSAC member in good standing, OR dependent child (under 26) of a PSAC member in good standing. Past PSAC scholarship winners are ineligible.
  • Application must be completed via the online portal; requires PSAC ID number and Component or Directly Chartered Local.
  • 2025 program deadline was June 22, 2025 at 11:55 pm ET.
  • Clearly indicate the applicable scholarship question.
  • Essay submissions must be in Word format with the applicant's full name and page numbers in the header and footer.
