About this scholarship
Project Yellow Light is an annual safe-driving PSA competition with scholarships for high school juniors and seniors (ages 14-20) and college or trade school students (ages 15-25). Entrants create a video, billboard design, or radio spot persuading peers not to drive distracted. First place in the video contest wins an $8,000 scholarship at both the high school and college levels; billboard and radio winners each receive $2,000.
Winning entries may be distributed nationally as Ad Council PSAs, on Clear Channel digital billboards, and on iHeartRadio stations. Students may enter individually or in teams of up to four, splitting the prize; scholarships are paid toward the school of the winner's choice, including trade and technical schools.
Students apply directly on the site. The contest opens each fall (late October); billboard entries are due March 1 and video and radio entries April 1.
