About this scholarship

Students entering a University of Guelph degree program with a minimum 90% admission average who have made significant leadership and innovative contributions to their schools and/or communities may compete for one of nine President's Scholarships.

Each scholarship is worth $8,250 and is renewable each year provided recipients remain in full-time studies, achieve a minimum 80.0% average in the previous academic year, and continue demonstrating the leadership qualities on which the award was given. Recipients must submit an annual report on leadership and engagement activities.

Apply by January 25 through the online application. Short-listed candidates are invited to campus for an interview. The scholarship was established in 1987 and cannot be held with the Lincoln Alexander Chancellor Scholarships, Chancellors' Scholarships, Academic Leadership Scholarships, or Board of Governors' Scholarships.
