About this scholarship

Individuals with disabilities in Maine pursuing post-secondary undergraduate or graduate education may apply. Applicants need a documented disability, a B average GPA or equivalent, and acceptance to a post-secondary institution.

Three $5,000 awards are granted annually. Funds are disbursed after successful completion of the first semester with a GPA of 2.5 or higher.

Submit a 500 to 1,000 word essay on how your disability has shaped your worldview, a letter of recommendation, an unofficial transcript, and the completed application form by April 1.

Alpha One Disability + Aging Solutions offers this scholarship to recognize resilience and ease the financial burden of higher education.

  • Eligibility: Maine high school student/graduate, B average or equivalent GPA, acceptance letter from a post-secondary institution, and a documented disability
  • Submit by email to mardi@alphaonenow.org, fax, or mail; rolling basis until April 1
  • Funds are disbursed after successful completion of the first semester with a GPA of 2.5 or higher.
