About this scholarship

Oregon high school graduating seniors who are at least 25% Chinese ethnicity, U.S. citizens or permanent residents, with a minimum 2.75 GPA and at least two years of Oregon high school attendance may apply.

Awards range up to $3,000 based on academic performance, community service, leadership, financial need, and athletic achievement. Funds may be used at accredited U.S. colleges or universities.

Submit the complete application package electronically or by mail by the posted deadline.

The Portland Chinese Scholarship Foundation honors Oregon graduates of Chinese ancestry pursuing higher education.

  • School transcript showing entire attendance history and Grade 12 first-semester or second-quarter grades.
  • One original essay of 300 words or less.
  • Signed Part A checklist/signature page.
  • School transcript covering entire years of attendance including 1st semester/2nd quarter of Grade 12, with GPA
  • SAT and/or ACT scores (if available and not on the transcript)
  • Academic and service activity sheets (Part D: academic achievements; school/community/service; Chinese community & church/temple; Chinese cultural & educational volunteering)
  • Athletic activities listing (Part E)
  • For need-based scholarships (Part G, optional): full FAFSA and Student Aid Report, plus College Award Letter and financial estimates
  • Eligibility: at least 25% Chinese ethnicity; U.S. citizen or permanent resident; Oregon HS graduating class member with 2+ years (4+ semesters) in Oregon; cumulative GPA 2.75+; attending an accredited
