About this scholarship

Rutland County, Vermont high school seniors pursuing postsecondary study in television, film, radio, internet, computer animation, graphic or digital arts, sound engineering, journalism, marketing, communications, or public relations may apply.

One award of $6,000 is offered each year.

Besides the application, submit an acceptance letter, transcript, letter of recommendation, relevant work samples, and a 500-word essay on why you are pursuing the field. Applications are distributed through county high schools.

The Courcelle Scholarship honors Joe Courcelle and recognizes proficiency and interest in video and media arts.

  • High school transcript.
  • At least one dated recommendation letter from a school administrator, teacher, coach, or community leader.
  • Relevant work samples in an appropriate digital format.
  • Essay of fewer than 500 words addressing involvement and interest in visual and media arts and reasons for seeking the scholarship.
  • Completed written application form.
  • Acceptance letter from the college, university, or trade school you plan to attend
