About this scholarship
Graduating high school seniors who are residents of Guilford, Forsyth, Rockingham, Randolph, or Alamance County, North Carolina, and who self-identify as LGBTQ or as a straight ally with demonstrated leadership and service in the LGBTQ community may apply through the Guilford Green Foundation.
Awards up to $3,000 total are granted each spring, either as multiple scholarships up to $1,000 or one scholarship up to $3,000. Recipient count varies.
Submit the online Microsoft Form application by February 14 at 11:59 p.m. ET.
The Pearl Berlin Scholarship celebrates courageous LGBTQ and allied students pursuing continuing education.

- High school or GED transcript
- Letter of reference from a non-family member
- Signed release form
- One combined essay of 500-1000 words (typed, submitted as a separate document) integrating answers to all three sub-questions: (1) How has being an LGBT Student or an LGBT Ally impacted your life? (2)
- Copy of high school or GED transcript (unofficial accepted)
- One letter of reference from a non-family member (mailed/emailed directly to the foundation)
- Signed and completed release form (parent/guardian must sign if under 18)
- Completed general application form (eligibility: resident of Guilford, Forsyth, Rockingham, Randolph or Alamance County, NC; graduating HS senior entering an accredited institution; self-identified LG
